LEED The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is one of the paramount Green building rating systems developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to provide a set of parameters to measure the buildings’ functioning and design for environmental consciousness. It distinguishes different forms of development such as New constructions, Renovations, Core and shell development, Schools, Retail, Data centre buildings, Warehouses, Hospitality structures, Healthcare buildings etc. LEED has also developed standards under LEED v4.1 ID+C to rate interior spaces that are a complete interior fit-out. LEED parameters focus on Daylight, Acoustic performance, Indoor air quality, Ventilation standards, Materials etc. and LEED certified buildings therefore perform better than other buildings both in terms of energy consciousness and also user’s satisfaction. In Our previous 3 posts including this one we talked about Green Building System in India. Now in our next few posts we will be elaborating about Rehabilitation and Restoration of Old Buildings.
